All his life, restaurant owner Chi Hung (Alan Tam) has given everything to help those around him, even to the point of taking over his employees' debts. However, that kindness has come at the expense of his family, especially the happiness of his wife Yeung Yeung (Veronica Yip). Chi Hung's benevolence streak comes to an end when he comes under heavy debt, and he is forced to sell the restaurant to Shek Sau (Chan Bak Cheung), his lifelong nemesis. Before Chi Hung commits suicide, an angel (Eric Tsang) appears and reminds Chi Hung of all the good times he had at the restaurant as a young man (Bosco Wong), including his arrival in Hong Kong, his courtship with young Yeung Yeung (Kate Tsui) and even the events that turned young Shek Sau (Michael Tse) against him. Soon, Chi Hung learns that a little help from his friends is all he needs.
