When Ti Lung left Shaw Brothers, he redefined his kung-fu, lone swordsman, hero persona from the past six years and ventured into films with social themes. In his directorial debut, Young Lovers On Flying Wheels, Ti accomplishes this by first replacing the sword with a motorcycle and then when faced to chose between the motorcycle (sword) or the women (a lonely life), he tosses the bike aside and takes the girl.
