In the middle of the dozens of US-like comedies made in Hong-Kong in the last few years, a comedy stands out for those who wants some fresh and funny ideas: You Shoot I Shoot. With a low budget, but a fun concept - a killer hiring a director to shoot his "work" - and good production values (energic directing, funny music), the movie reveals one name: Edmond Pang Ho Cheung, scriptwriter and director (not his first script, but his first directing). This name was already famous in HK as the author of a best-seller, Fulltime Killer, since adapted to the big screen by nothing else than Johnnie To.

After an award for the best script, nobody heard about Edmond Pang for some months. It took more than one year to him to be able to direct his second movie. But once again, the result is convincing. Men Suddenly in Black is another comedy, but with another style. With its impressive cast (Eric Tsang, Jordan Chan, Chapman To, Teresa Mo, Candy Lo, Tony Leung Ka-Fai...), hilarious script full of ideas, efficient directing and music, the movie is a surprise hit at the box-office. You Shoot I Shoot was no accident, Edmond Pang begins to have a name in Hong-Kong.

Cinemasie invites you to discover more about this promising director and his movies, thanks to two interviews (one with Edmond Pang, one with his music composers), movie files, reviews, etc...
