DVD Hong Kong 1941
image
Very nice image for such an old movie. There are some compression problems, and the colors are not very vivid. But except that, it's very convincing: sharp image, good compression (there are some grain, but it doesn't mean the compression is bad, it's rather the opposite), very clean. Impressive.
sound
The 5.1 is in fact much closer to a stereo or a 3.0. The sound is concentrated on the front speakers, the surround ones are very rarely used. Except that, very decent mix.
subtitles
Good english subs, no particular problem.
special features
That's quite nice, with some pics, trailers, two interviews, the bio and filmo of Chow Yun-Fat. For the price, that's really welcome.
menus
Nice animated menus, not very original but very pleasant. Same for the cover.
quality/price ration
For the price, this edition is very convincing. Nothing is really top notch here, but everything is convincing without any important lack. Very recommended.
